How to Play

Play Link online for free. Link is a 50-stage path creation game where players create closed loops on a grid with numbered cells on it. Each numbered cell must be passed by lines the number of times shown inside the cell. If a cell does not have a number it can be passed any number of times. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the play button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
- All levels are unlocked when you start the game & you can play the levels in any order.
- The welcome screen has a how to play information button under the play button & a music control button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Use your mouse left click button to draw a line between two points on the matrix, or to erase an existing line.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Tap the screen with a finger to draw or erase lines.
      - Controls & indicators
        The upper left corner of the screen shows the current level number.
        The upper right corner of the scree has 3 buttons for returning to the home screen, restarting the level, and controlling game sound.
        Game Play
        Basics
        Lay lines down contecting points on the graph in such a way that:
        the lines create one or more closed loops
        the loops do not branch off
        squares with numbers in the middle are passed the number of times shown
        Passing cells
        Cells with no numbers in them can be passed any number of times.
        Cells with a number in them must be passed exactly the same number of times as shown in the center of that square.
        Functional loops
        When a loop is functional there should be a continuous black line with black dots on it.
        Numbers can be inside or outside the loop, but they will be black if they are passed the correct number of times.
        Levels
        This game has 50 stages.
        You can play the levels in any order.
        If you get stuck on a level you can skip it and play the next level.
        The early levels are smaller grids and quite easy, whereas the grid size grows larger as you progress through the game.
        Strategy
        Cells with a zero in them give you a lot of clues about neighboring cells.
        Cells with a 3 in them have to have walls on 3 of the 4 sides, making it easy to use them as a starting point for your grid.
        Cells in the corner have a limited number of outboud paths, making them easy starting points.
        If you don’t know where to start you can start a loop until you run into logical errors in it and then keep readjusting it incrementally.
        If you get stuck on a level you can skip it and go back to it later.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like path making games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
